Director of Hockey – Zack Doyen

The Director of Hockey, Zack Doyen is responsible for overseeing all hockey operations and working with each team on a day-to-day basis. Zack initiates and directs all programs and operations necessary for the creation of a safe and healthy hockey environment with opportunities for players to develop, and for Orchard Lake Hockey teams to become more competitive. Zack is responsible for overseeing on and off ice instruction of players and coaches, as well as providing recommendations to the Board of Directors on the direction of the program.

An Ortonville Michigan native, Zack played AA and AAA hockey at Honeybaked, Little Caesars, and Victory Honda. During his sophomore high school season, Zack decided to make a change and play high school hockey for the Varsity team at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s. He was an All-State Honorable Mention and later a First Team All-State player in the two years he played as an Eaglet. In college, Zack played 4 years of NCAA Division 3 hockey at Salem State University located near Boston, Massachusetts. During his senior year at SSU, Zack was awarded the Vance “Salty” Smith award, this award is given to the senior athlete at Salem State for all sports who showed the most dedication to his team and community throughout his 4 years at the university.

Zack has over 14 years of youth coaching, high school coaching and scouting experience. Zack is currently in his x year as a Head Assistant Coach with the Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Varsity High School team, and 2005 graduate of the school. Zack has a real passion for the game and he helps to develop players to their fullest potential at all ages.
