2023 Spring Information

Orchard Lake Hockey Association is offering a 2023 Spring Skills Sessions for 6U Mini-Mites (birth years (2016 & 2017) & 8U Mites (2014 & 2015). The Spring session includes 8 Monday night skates (6:00-6:50 PM), running from April 3rd to May 22nd. The cost for the spring session is $200 and includes a spring OLHA jersey. Participants must be registered with USA Hockey, and you will need your player's current USA Hockey number to register. Unsure of your number, or need to obtain one, visit USA Hockey.

The 2012 Orchard Lake Red Hockey Team will be hosting three (3) Spring Try-Out skates. The team is looking to add a few highly motivated, competitive players and a goalie to a very solid core group of players. Out of district spots are available. The team doubled their win total from a season ago, under their first year head coach, Joe Savona. We will be playing in the LCAHL Yzerman in the Fall. The team's fall staff will include former NHL player Corey Elkins as our skating instructor, at least once per month.

Non-parent Head Coach, Joe Savona bring eight (8) years of coaching experience, along with seven (7) years player experience with Little Caesars AAA Hockey Club, four (4) years of Varsity experience, and a year of Junior jockey in Ontario, Canada. Joe is also an Associate Coach for the Orchard Lake St. Mary's Varsity Hockey Team.

Try-Outs are $20 per skater, goalies free. All tryouts will be held at Orchard Lake St. Mary's Ice Arena, 3535 Commerce Road, West Bloomfield.

Tuesday, March 21st - 7:00 to 8:00 PM
Sunday, March 26th - 10:00-11:20 AM
Tuesday, March 28th - 7:00-8:00 PM

The team will have ice on Wednesday and Sundays in the Spring, and have full access to all rink facilities, including the Shooting Room, Video Room, and Indoor Track. We will be skating twice a week during the Spring Season.

2010 Red Tryouts

The Orchard Lake United 2010 Red Team is hosting try-outs for skaters interested in joining our team. All positions and out of district spots are open. Try-outs will be held on the following days at Orchard Lake St. Mary's Athletic Complex, 3535 Commerce Road, Orchard Lake. $20 per player, goalies are free, advance registration required.

Thursday, March 23rd 8:30 PM to 9:50 PM
Saturday, March 25th 1:00 PM to 2:300 PM
Monday, March 27th 7:00 PM to 8:20 PM

We are looking to add additional players to a strong core of skaters. The OLU 2010 Red team will skate out of Orchard Lake St. Mary's Athletic Complex on Tuesdays and Sundays. The team will have full access to all of the rink facilities, including the Shooting Room, Video Room, and Workout facility.

The team will be coached by Zack Bennett. Coach Zack brings five (5) years of coaching experience, extensive hockey knowledge and experience. Zack has coached and taken teams to the state championships under former pro Fred Perlini and Steve Kuphal, OLU's most winningest coach. His strong leadership and commitment to the players development make him a perfect fit for the team.

2023 Spring Orchard Lake White '09 Try-Out

The Orchard Lake 2009 White (Bantam AA) team is hosting try-outs for those interested in joining the Spring team. We are looking to add players to a strong core team. We have out of district positions available.

The team played in Howe 2 for 2022/23 season.

$20 fee for players, no charge for goalies. Advance registration required.

- Tues., March 21 @ 8:15 PM to 9:30 PM, OLSMAC*

- Thurs., March 23 @ 8:30 PM to 10 PM, DSC**

- Sat., March 25 @ 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, OLSMAC*

**DSC - Detroit Skating Club, 888 Denison Court, Bloomfield Hills, MI

The OLU 2009 White team will have full access to all of the rink facilities, including the Shooting Room, and Video Room at the Orchard Lake St. Mary's Athletic Complex.

The team will be coached by Arnold Morrison, who has 17 years of AAA coaching experience, producing over 25 players that went on to play for D1 institutions, and 4 players who secured spots with NHL teams. Coach Arnold grew up playing hockey in metro Detroit, including playing college hockey for the University of Michigan, juniors in Toronto, and playing one year professionally in Europe.

The team has home ice 2x per week. We are planning for local scrimmages in Spring season.

Our Mission

Orchard Lake United is committed to providing a safe, structured and enjoyable environment for every child within our association to develop his or her hockey skills at their own pace.

Based on Long Term Athlete Development and the American Development Model, we provide age appropriate training in a fun and active atmosphere.

At Orchard Lake United we train to develop the player first and prepare our players to win.

Congratulations to the players and the coaches of the Orchard Lake United 18U team for winning the 2020 D4 District Championship. They beat LCFH 3-0 on February 9th to win the championship. Goalie Joey Stone was named MVP. Great Job Coaches and Players! Go United!

Can Am Nashville Challenge

On February 2, 2020 the 2010 Orchard Lake United team took the Gold in the Can Am Nashville Challenge Cup. This team outscored their opponents 35-5 in four games. A very impressive group of young players! Go OLU!

Rock and Roll Cup
